  • Cassandra Raudenbush
    DVM
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Cassandra Raudenbush grew up locally in southern California. Her interest in veterinary medicine started at a young age since her mother was an animal health technician. She would enjoy going to the clinic on the weekends and getting to watch the doctors and technicians help animals in need. She grew up in a household that always had a variety of animals from dogs and cats to guinea pigs, iguanas, and tortoises. She attended California State Polytechnic University Pomona where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. She recently graduated from Western University of Health Sciences with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

    On her days off, you can find her hiking with her dog or spending time with her nieces and nephews.

  • Fred Brewer IV
    DVM, DACVIM
    Mobile Cardiologist Specialist

    Dr. Fred Brewer is a board certified (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine) veterinary cardiologist. He is a native of southern California, growing up in Long Beach where he attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School and later graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology.

    Later, he received his veterinary degree from Cornell University in 2009. Following the 4 years at Cornell University, he completed a 1-year general rotating internship at the California Animal Hospital Veterinary Specialty Group in West Los Angeles with Dr. Stephen J. Ettinger.
    This was followed by a 3 year Cardiology residency at Cornell University, where he was trained to perform minimally invasive interventional procedures such as pacemakers, balloon valvuloplasties, and PDA occlusions. He has a keen interest in electrophysiology, has extensively studied the canine sinus node, and has published in veterinary medical journals. Additionally, he is experienced in the management of complex arrhythmias and the treatment of refractory heart failure.
    In addition to providing the best quality of care for his patients, Dr. Brewer is an avid surfer and enjoys playing water polo, traveling, and photography.

  • Ann Reed
    DVM
    Mobile Radiologist Specialist

    Dr. Reed received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1991. She completed her radiology residency in 1995 at The University of Missouri-Colombia. Dr. Reed is also a board certified diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Radiology. She performs all the ultrasound examinations and the radiology diagnostics at Brea Veterinary Hospital. Her clinical experience as a certified radiologist is very helpful in the diagnosis of complicated cases, as well as for good patient prognosis.

    Dr. Reed is also athletic. She enjoys many sports, like running, water skiing, basketball, soccer, and biking.

  • Zachary Smith, DVM, DACVS
    Mobile Board-Certified Surgeon

    Dr. Zachery Smith is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He specializes in complex orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. During Dr. Smith’s training he has been able to work with some of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country. He has also had the privilege of lecturing both domestically and internationally on topics such as elbow replacement biomechanics, novel therapies for canine arthritis including Platelet rich plasma (PRP), stem cell therapy, hyaluronic acid and intraarticular injection treatment. These special interests carry over into his clinical practice with a pursuit for continued advancement in options for both minimally invasive and surgical therapies.
    Zachery originated from Northern California and knew from a very young age that he would pursue veterinary medicine. He attended California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo where he achieved Summa Cum Laude for his BS in Animal Science. He continued his education at the University of California, Davis where he graduated with Phi Zeta honors and achieved his doctorate in veterinary medicine. After graduating, Zachery completed a small animal internship at Animal Specialty Group (ASG) in Los Angeles before completing his training with a three-year surgical residency with Sage Centers for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care.  Zachery Smith was the medical director for Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group-OC for two years and continues to serve the clients of VMSG as a staff surgeon.
    Dr. Smith finds great honor in opportunities to advance the veterinary profession and is commonly found lecturing to fellow veterinarians, teaching other professionals or working on the development of novel surgical techniques. When not in clinics, Dr. Smith can generally be found working at the family’s horse ranch or at jumping competitions with his children, wife and 5 horses, 2 dogs, 3 chickens and cat.

    Ashley Hopkins
    Veterinarian

    My name is Ashley Hopkins. I am a 2015 graduate of the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and have been practicing small animal veterinary medicine ever since then in both Michigan and California. I enjoy traveling, so I have found that relief veterinary work suits me!
